News From Aamchi

Right then. So a couple of us have been here a while. We’ve walked, we’ve talked and done all else that goes with the territory.

Unwinding one evening were Sujeet and me, at Café Mondegar (just down the street is Leopold Café, where we’ve spent other evenings). Anyone from Mumbai will tell you, “You can’t spend an evening here without seeing or being seen by someone you know.”

We were almost running out of luck as we stepped out on to the pavement. Looked like this was to be the day when we’d meet no one … and just then an old friend of mine from LINTAS spots me. And I him.

We discuss how we’re glad we ran into each other, it saved the day. He asks why I’m there. I mumble Flipkart something something. “Slipkraft what?” he says.

But then his friend nails it.

“Oh, you’re with Flipkart? I know you guys. Didn’t you just close your first round? It’s news.” (etc.)

Damn, I love this city. Good to be back. (Ravi, Purple, Fakir … shall make time and mail you guys)
