2 New Features: Cash-on-Delivery
The past couple of weeks have been spent in productive silence. Here’s one of the things we have to show for it:
Cash-on-Delivery (C-o-D)
So finally, it’s out! We have now enabled Cash-on-Delivery in multiple cities (I’ll come to the list in a bit). We’ve got a lot of mails from students and so on, who don’t necessarily have the means to pay online. C-o-D to the rescue.
You’ll find the C-o-D icon on the top right, for books that are “Cash-on-Delivery Enabled”. You add them to cart as you normally would, and when finally checking out, select “Pay By Cash-on-Delivery” from the Payment Options.
The following couple of steps are to verify your phone number and address, which is critical. Once done, we ship your books to you and you pay at the time of delivery. That’s pretty much it!
C-o-D is supported in the following cities:

- Kolkata
- Ahmedabad
- Bhopal
- Bhubaneshwar
- Chandigarh
- Cochin
- Coimbatore
- Goa
- Guwahati
- Hyderabad

- Pondicherry
- Pune
- Rajkot
- Surat
- Taloja
- Vadodara (Baroda)
We’ll see what we can do about other cities (those not on this list).

Hi – I noticed Chandigarh being part of the list. Should I consider Zirakpur (a satellite town of Chandigarh, PIN: 140603) also included for COD?
hii..i m amar sinha from silchar,assam…as its well knwn that in the north east india,,we have lack of communication bt our city silchar,is not a step back…we hv achvd everthng regardng studies..so plz have a look at this..we need a cash on dellivery optiion here….
COD also should be supported in north 24 parganas in West Bengal. At least in the main sub divisional areas.. It will improve your business too….
We need COD in tezpur assam also, atleast in TEZPUR UNIVERSITY CAMPUS! I enjoyed flipkart cod service being in pune, mumbai and guwahati, and now shifted to tezpur. Plz satisfy us…flipkart

Pathetic service experience after 15 successful orders.
Order placed on Sunday, Books yet undelivered as on Wednesday.
Summary:
6 calls to customer care number, 2 mails and 10 calls to the delivery agency./
Result: Books yet undelivered.
Catching response from the Unit jointly:
1. Executive calls at 9 am and informs to be reaching in 1 hr. At 12 when I called customer care, the care says, we can’t help it. The agency will deliver the books as per their convenience.
2. When asked to deliver the next day, the agency replies, we’ll see!
3. The sugar-coated executives @ cust care apologize for the inconvenience but the courier is yet not delivered. Says can’t check as the consignment has been dispatched from local office.
4. Agency guy calls right after 10 minutes, says cannot deliver as consignment could not be released from local custody. See what you want to do.
